We Read Your Page Before We Put a Price on It.
Every call, email and brief that reaches this studio is read by a working translator — the same people who argue about antecedent basis for a living. No intake portal. No word-count calculator spitting out a number for a document nobody has opened. Tell us what it is and where it’s headed; we’ll tell you what it honestly takes.
- No chatbot pretending to know what a claim is.
- No ticket number in place of a name.
- No quote until someone has read the source.
Tell Us Where It’s Headed. That Decides How You Reach Us.
A JPO filing due Friday and a German UI string file are different conversations. Find what’s on your desk below and take the fastest route in — it saves a day, sometimes a week.
| If you’re holding… | Fastest way in | Send along | What you hear back | Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| An office action with a response date | Call. Today. | The action itself, the claims as filed, the date it’s due | On the same call: whether we can make that date — and if we can’t, we say so | Call Now |
| A patent application headed abroad | Call, then email the spec | Page count, target office (USPTO, EPO, JPO), priority date | A fixed quote in writing within one business day | Quote a Filing |
| A regulatory submission | Destination (PMDA, a notified body, FDA), template version, your last approved submission | A fixed quote within one business day, plus any terms we need you to confirm | Email the Dossier | |
| Software docs or UI strings | Email the export | XLIFF, JSON, .resx or PO files; screenshots for context; character limits per field | String count, reuse from your memory, and a quote within one business day | Send the Strings |
| One page you want to test us on | Email, subject “Free page” | The page, the target language, where it’s going | Translated, with margin notes on every term, in two business days — $0 | Send One Page |
| Korean, French — anything outside our three | Email anyway | The language pair and the subject matter | An honest no, and a suggestion of the kind of specialist to look for | Ask Us Anyway |
Certified translation runs $0.26/word EN⇄DE and $0.32/word EN⇄JA with a $385 minimum; glossary builds from $1,480; in-country review from $640 per document set. Every number on your quote is fixed before we start.
Brief Us Like You’d Brief Your Own Engineer.
Three sentences beat three pages. What the document is, where it has to land, and the date it has to land by. We’ll ask for the rest — and we’ll ask good questions.
Your File Works the Night Shift.
Germany is already past lunch when we unlock the door on Magnolia St; Japan picks up as Florida winds down. Call us at three in the afternoon and the work you start can keep moving through most of the next twenty-four hours.
Shown in Eastern time for October. When the clocks change in Europe and the US — on different weekends, and Japan not at all — the overlap shifts by an hour. That’s our scheduling problem, not yours. The white line marks right now, if your browser lets us draw it.
Paper Originals? Walk Them Over.
Some certifications still start with a wet-ink signature or a sealed priority document. If yours does, bring it to Magnolia St during studio hours. Call ahead and a translator — not a receptionist — meets you at the door and reads it with you on the spot.
- The original, or a certified copy of the source document
- The receiving office’s formatting rules, if it has any
- Your deadline, written down — we’ll write ours right next to it
Under embargo? Write “NDA first” in your email. Ours arrives before you attach a single page. Files are encrypted at rest and deleted 90 days after delivery — unless you ask us to keep your translation memory for next time.
